Background noise settings allow you to add subtle ambient sound to your AI assistant's audio during calls. This might seem like a minor detail, but it can have a meaningful impact on how callers perceive the call. A completely silent background can feel sterile and artificial — adding light office ambiance or gentle background noise makes the call feel more like speaking with a real person in a real environment.
This feature is entirely optional and works best when used subtly. The goal is not to deceive callers, but to create a more comfortable, natural-feeling audio environment that reduces the "uncanny valley" effect of a perfectly silent AI call.
Available Background Sounds
Volume Control
You can adjust the volume of the background sound independently from the assistant's voice. Keep the background volume low — typically 10–20% of the voice volume. Background noise that is too loud will make the assistant harder to understand and will feel unnatural. The goal is for the background to be barely perceptible, not prominent.
Transparency Note
Live Bots 365 is committed to ethical AI use. Background noise is intended to improve call quality and comfort — not to deceive callers into thinking they are speaking with a human. If asked directly, your assistant should acknowledge that it is an AI. We recommend including this in your system prompt: "If the caller asks whether you are a human or an AI, always answer honestly."
