Live Bots 365 supports several types of phone numbers, each suited to different use cases. Choosing the right number type for your use case affects answer rates, compliance, and cost — so it is worth understanding the differences before purchasing.

Local Numbers

Local numbers have area codes that correspond to a specific geographic region. When your AI assistant calls someone using a local number, the recipient sees a familiar area code — which significantly increases the likelihood that they will answer. Studies consistently show that calls from local numbers have answer rates 2–4x higher than calls from toll-free or out-of-area numbers.

Local numbers are the best choice for outbound campaigns where maximizing answer rates is the priority. If you are calling leads in multiple regions, consider purchasing local numbers for each target area code.

Toll-Free Numbers

Toll-free numbers (800, 888, 877, 866, etc.) are free for the caller to dial and convey a professional, established business image. They are well-suited for inbound customer service lines where you want callers to reach you at no cost to them.

Toll-free numbers are less effective for outbound calling — recipients are more likely to ignore calls from toll-free numbers, as they are commonly associated with telemarketing. Use them for inbound lines, not outbound campaigns.

Mobile Numbers

Mobile numbers are available in certain countries and can be used for both voice calls and SMS messaging. They are particularly useful when you need a single number that handles both AI voice calls and text message follow-ups.

International Numbers

Live Bots 365 supports phone numbers in over 50 countries. International numbers allow you to establish a local presence in foreign markets — for example, a UK number for calling British customers, or an Australian number for the Australian market. See the Supported Countries page for the full list of available regions.
