WhatsApp Automation allows you to create intelligent, trigger-based messaging workflows that engage customers at exactly the right moment — without manual effort. From welcome messages to appointment reminders to re-engagement campaigns, automation ensures consistent, timely communication at any scale.

Types of WhatsApp Automations

Welcome Message

Trigger: First message from new contact

Automatically send a greeting when a new customer messages your WhatsApp number for the first time. This sets the tone for the relationship and can include a menu of options to help the customer navigate quickly.

Appointment Reminders

Trigger: Scheduled time before appointment

Send automated reminders 24 hours and 1 hour before a scheduled appointment. Customers can confirm or cancel directly in WhatsApp, and the response is handled by the AI assistant.

Follow-Up Sequences

Trigger: Call ended / conversation resolved

After a call or conversation, automatically send a follow-up message with additional information, a survey link, or a next-step CTA. This keeps the conversation moving without requiring manual follow-up.

Re-Engagement Campaigns

Trigger: No activity for X days

Reach out to customers who have not interacted with your business in a defined period. Send a personalized message with a relevant offer or update to bring them back into the conversation.

Lead Nurture Sequences

Trigger: New lead added to campaign

Automatically send a series of messages over days or weeks to nurture new leads. Each message can be personalized based on the lead's profile and previous interactions.

Creating an Automation

Go to WhatsApp > Automations and click New Automation. The automation builder uses a simple trigger-action model:

  1. Select a trigger: Choose what event starts the automation (new contact, appointment scheduled, no activity, etc.).
  2. Add conditions (optional): Filter which contacts the automation applies to (e.g., only contacts in a specific campaign or with a specific tag).
  3. Define actions: Choose what happens — send a template message, wait X hours, check a condition, branch based on a response, etc.
  4. Test the automation: Run a test with a sample contact to verify the flow works as expected.
  5. Activate: Turn the automation on. It will run automatically for all qualifying contacts going forward.

Compliance Reminders

Important: WhatsApp has strict policies about business messaging. Always ensure you have obtained proper consent before sending automated messages. Include an opt-out option in all marketing automations. Violating WhatsApp's policies can result in your business account being suspended.
